Through your donation, you are partnering with Special Olympics Arizona in our goal to empower the over 180,000 Arizonans with intellectual disabilities to be healthy, productive, and respected members of society. You are opening the door for them to accomplish their goals, build relationships, confidence and skills through our year-round sports training, competitions, and support programs.
Empower a Special Olympics Arizona athlete like Jackie, who won a Gold medal in downhill skiing at the 2009 World Winter Games in Boise, Idaho. In addition to her training with Special Olympics Arizona, her family trains and skis with her in preparation for competition. Special Olympics has given this family a place to belong and has a made a difference in their lives! Jackie has found something that she excels in and that has been a great confidence booster in other areas of her life.
There are many options and donation levels to sponsor an athlete. Our most immediate need is to sponsor athletes to attend the upcoming Special Olympics 2010 USA National Games, which will be held in Nebraska July 18-23, 2010. Medical physicals, meals, boarding, transportation and training camp will all be provided at no cost to the athletes or their families. We need your help to make this dream become a reality!
