Local Area Programs

Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ) is organized at the grassroots level with nearly 100 accredited local programs serving every county in the state. Local programs are managed by Area Directors who oversee all aspects of athlete registration, sports training, competition, fundraising and volunteer management.

Arizona is divided into 15 geographic areas under an area management system which is in place to improve the quality of programming at the local level. Special Olympics Arizona has area offices in Flagstaff and Tucson, with the headquarters office based in Phoenix.

Want to Start a Local Program? Please complete this survey. Your request will be reviewed by the Director of your local area, and they will get back to you with information on how you can get started!
